“Confidence is not something that blooms overnight,” says the 28-year-old actress while seated on a couch in the Waldorf Towers on Park Ave. “It takes time to develop — at least it has for me.”
Which is why she relates so well to her character Emma in “One Day,” a love story spanning
20 years based on the best-selling novel by David Nicholls and co-starring Jim Sturgess.
“Emma is a terrifically insecure person at the beginning of the story,” says Hathaway. “It takes her a long time to understand and define who she is, and I can really relate to that part of her character.
